Philosophy in Literature

This group meets once a month and looks at literature as an expression of humanity, at meanings that lie behind the use of literary devices and at the philosophical and imaginative insights that literature is able to offer.

Besides acting a Beckett play, writing our own poetry and choosing diverse literary examples to develop our discussion, we have focused on death, humour and love, and have dissected existentialist ideas present in modern literature.

In the past we have also brought along a short love poem that has affected us – to share with the group.

See the Calendar on the main page for up-to-date location and time details, as well as what will be happening in the next group.
